A lot of fun! As a mom of 4, and a background in coaching kids, my style of shooting is very kid centered. We cuddle, tell stories, have races and play games. Sometimes the energy is crazy and sometimes we calm it down. Either way, I'm always shooting and looking for the in between moments. They usually last 60 minutes and I prefer to start shooting about an hour before sunset. At some locations there is a little walk/hike to our spots, so you may need to show up about 10 minutes earlier but I will let you know when you book.

What is expected of me during the session?
There are only a few things you need to remember...
Always be engaging with each other and keep close contact with your family. If you don't know what to do with your hands, don't stick them in your pockets, touch someone! Relax, you don't always have to be looking at the camera. And let loose and have fun!
I usually tell people to wear what they are comfortable in. Especially children. If they don't "like" what they have on, it can totally ruin their mood.
There is a lot of moving, playing sitting and standing, so clothes easy to move in is best. Movement and texture look great in photos, so dresses and layers are always a good option. In regards to colors, choose neutrals or a softer palette so your outfits are not competing with you or the background. If you need help with wardrobe, please ask!
How many people can I include in my session?
Family sessions can have up to 6 people. There is a $15 fee per additional person.
When will we receive the gallery?
My goal is to get you images to you in less than two weeks. You have 30 days to make your selections and download your images.
CAN I ORDER PRINTS THROUGH YOU?
You absolutely can! I use a professional print lab, Millers Lab and stand behind any image you order. The coloring, focus and overall quality may be off if you print at Walgreens, Costco or similar stores.
DO YOU TRAVEL FOR WEDDINGS?
Yes! Please make sure you contact me as soon as you can. I need sometime to organize my family :). Depending the location, there will be a travel fee that may include flight, room and board, car rental, and/or fuel expenses.
Should we do an engagement session?
I always recommend doing an engagement session for a couple of reasons.
1. You might want to add a photo to your save the date.
2. It will more than likely be my first time shooting you. It’s a great way for me to see how you are together as a couple...super cuddly, goofy, shy, etc. When it comes time for your wedding photos, I will have a better idea of the best shots for you!
DO WE NEED A SECOND SHOOTER?
That depends on your day and your timeline and your package. If I need to be in two places at once, then yes. If your locations and timeline allows for me to shoot all the things and people then no. If I’m doing both photos and video, then yes. Let’s chat about it!
HOW LONG WILL WE NEED TO WAIT TO GET MY WEDDING IMAGES/FILM?
I try to get the images and films back within 4-6 weeks. I do send out sneak peeks within 36 hours of the event to hold you over.
WILL I RECEIVE RAW’S OR PRINTS WITH MY DIGITALS?
I deliver all images in an online gallery edited and ready to go to print. RAW images or footage are not given. You can add on an album or a custom print package.
WHAT CAN I EXPECT DURING A BRAND WORK SESSION?
Brand and business sessions are completely tailored and scripted to your business. Before filming/shooting, we talk via phone or face to face and come up with a plan to efficiently get all the images and footage needed to make your film. Depending on where you are going to be using your film and how long it will need to be will determine how much time we need to spend shooting. Let’s chat about it!
What do we wear?
Think of me as a fly on the wall. Either in a family film session or a wedding film, I try to stay back and document the day as it happens. There is some instruction if I want to make sure I have some certain footage but for the most part, I'm pretty quiet and let the day unfold as it will. So you don't need to do much except enjoy the day we planned or your wedding! I do send out a questionnaire asking about your favorite things to do with your family, some things your kids do or say that you want to remember, or little moments you want captured. And for a wedding film, I ask that you share with me on the questionnaire any special moments or people, traditions or events that will be happening. I keep a shot list and my eyes open for them throughout the shoot.
Family films start in your home. I am open to walking or driving to a location outside of your home that is special to your family as long as it's no farther than 20-30 minutes of travel time.
I encourage families to choose 10 activities that they normally do on a Saturday morning. It can be as simple as blowing bubbles, making pancakes or telling stories.
I'm usually quiet during filming and don't say too much to the family. I'm not trying to be rude, I just want the connection to be between you and your family, not me. It may be awkward at first but eventually everyone forgets I'm there and starts to act "normal."
The shoot takes around 2-3 hours. I try not to direct too much but will make suggestions on when we should move from one activity to the next.
I strongly encourage as much connection as possible! I'm constantly looking for the cuddles and the sweet moments, so don't be afraid to connect. :)
WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT DURING A FILM SESSION?
What about for a brand film? what should i expect or prepare for?
I send out a detailed questionnaire before the shoot. I ask you share with me what the film will be used for and what you want portrayed for your brand. If there is any scripts that need to be written or practiced, or shots we need to get, I need to know about them ahead of time. Once we chat and talk about the plan for the shoot and the final product, I create a shot list to have with me day of to make sure we get all we need.
Of course I am going to say yes! A photograph will bring back a memory, but a film will bring back the moment. A video is the best way to really capture all the things you really want to remember, the voices, the laughs and the words. A film just tugs on the heart strings a little more. Believe me, you wont regret it.
DO I really need a family film or a wedding film?
CAN WE HAVE OUR VOWS INCLUDED IN THE FILM?
Absolutely! We can do it a couple different ways. We can pre-record your vows before the ceremony or I can mic you up and we can get them live. I will usually add them as a voiceover into the film.
WHEN WILL WE RECEIVE THE film?
My goal is to get your film to you within 6 weeks.
No. I work with Smart Previews. They are a low resolution, fully editable copy of your RAW Photo.
Do i send you over raw images?
How many galleries can I send you at a time?
I work on an appointment system, so you can schedule your galleries ahead of time. So you can send over as many galleries as there are appointments available.
Your style! I use the anchor images that you edit before you send over your gallery. I use your presets based on your current style.
